Nancy J. Hiles

Nancy J. Hiles, 85, of Fairview, PA, passed away Monday, August 11, 2014 at UPMC Shadyside.

She was born November 20, 1928 in Butler, PA, the daughter of Robert G. and Bessie (Hindman) Given.

Nancy was a lifetime resident of the area and graduated from Fairview Twp. Karns City High School. For 36 years, she worked at Witco as the assistant to the office manager. Nancy was a member of Fairview United Presbyterian Church and belonged to the Chicora Order of the Eastern Star #354. She also was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Petrolia Fireman's Ladies Auxiliary.

Nancy had a number of interests, which included knitting, crocheting, reading, playing cards, bowling and playing golf. Family was important to Nancy, and she cherished the time spent with them - especially her grandchildren who were the pride of her life. There was also a special place in her heart for her dog, Krissie. Nancy will be best remembered for her easy going personality and kind heart. She will be sadly missed by the many people whose lives she has touched.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Bob Hiles and wife, Barb, Tom Hiles, and David Hiles and wife, Linda, all of Petrolia; daughters, Cindy Kelly and husband, Duane, of Butler, and Candy Ridley and companion, John Morrow, of Karns City; grandchildren Amy Regan and husband, Patrick, Rob Hiles and wife, Amy, Brent Corbett and wife, Joanie, Michael Hiles and wife, Erin, Bryan Ridley and wife, Crystal, Nathan Ridley, Angela Hiles, Duane Hiles, Ashlee Hiles and Justin Hiles and wife, Tonya; great-grandchildren, Max and Liam, Cassidy, Coltan and Caiden, Dylan, Cole, Gabrielle and Gavin, Andriah and Zoey, Kyra and Spencer, Emily, Kaylee and Riley, Trevor, Jamilyn and Ayriana, Garrett, and Maren; great-great-grandchild, Maverick; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, Gerald W. Hiles, whom she married February 19, 1949 and who passed away in September of 2000.

Relatives and friends may visit from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Friday, August 15, 2014 at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 102 S. Argyle Street, Petrolia.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Saturday, August 16, 2014, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Harper Brady and Pastor Dennis Barger co-officiating.

Burial will follow in Bear Creek Cemetery, Petrolia, PA.
