Margaret Pearl Bailey
Margaret Pearl Bailey, age 96, of Dayton, PA, died, Thursday, March 4, 2010 at her home.
She was born December 2, 1913, in Wayne Twp., Armstrong Co., PA to Albert David and Susanna (Wall) Rupp.
Mrs. Bailey was a resident of the Dayton area and had previously resided in New Kensington from 1937-1987 where she was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church. She also attended the Dayton Senior Center. Margaret enjoyed cross stitching quilts and table cloths. Her greatest enjoyment came from baking cookies, especially sugar and molasses, and spending time with her entire family and friends, especially her dog Lady.
She is survived by a sister, Anna Helmick and husband Harold of Dayton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chalmers S. Bailey whom she married December 2, 1939 and who died February 3, 2001; four brothers, Ross Rupp, Arthur Rupp, George Rupp, and Wallace W. Rupp; two sisters, Cora I. Silvis, Harriet E. Good; and her beloved dog Casey.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Sunday, March 7, 2010, at the Bauer-Bly Funeral Home, 125 E. Main Street, Dayton, PA, where a funeral service will held at 11 AM on Monday, March 8, 2010, with Rev. Alfred Petrill officiating.
Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell, Westmoreland Co., PA.
